What is Pacific Islands Fisheries Group's
Mission
PIFG's mission is to facilitate communication and
participation amongst all marine resource users to support sound
resource use, management, research, conservation and education
What are PIFG's Goals?
- Develop and maintain a database of fishermen (regardless of
fishing styles), fishing and seafood industry, fishery organizations,
government agencies and any other interested parties
- Support cooperative research that encourage active
fishermen participation
- Communicate timely and helpful information to resource
users regarding management, conservation and research
- Actively participate in marine management and conservation
policy development
- Conduct broad-based fishery and marine education and
outreach programs
